As I’ve spent a good portion of my life DJ’ing and generally listening/loving music I feel it’s in me to create something pretty awesome. Only problem is I just need time to learn to use some professional music production software.
A while ago (about 1998 I think) I got my hands on a playStation 1 game called “Music” It allowed you to record samples from CD’s and chop them up, rearrange and create. you didn’t only just copy and create, it had some pretty advanced features (For a Playstation) which brought the studio production experience to gamers. I remember staying up all night tweaking one track to my liking. I created 3 tracks in total.
I’m Real (Created using Music on Playstation1)
I ripped a small section of Moby’s “Porcelain” and chopped it up, rearranged it then added my own percussion, beats and strings. couple years later I added the J Lo and Jarule lyrics to it using a PC. I wish I still had the original instrumental track but I didn’t back it up :(. This is probably my favourite track created on PS Music but I cringe everytime I hear that “way too heavy” beat come in later on in the track.
BlackHole (Created using Music on Playstation1)
When I think of “Jungle” this is the sound I hear in my head. “Drum and Bass” is a style i also enjoy but I love the harder sound of Jungle. I’ve been trying to find the name of the track I sampled to make this and I can’t remember. (This will be updated when i find it)
Rock right now (Created using Music on Playstation1)
This track was created using A Tribe called Quest “Can I kick it” who originally used a Lou Reed sample “Take a walk on the wild side” I then sampled in DJ Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock “It Takes Two” in a Fatboy Slim stylee which is what I was heavily listening to at the time.
Story With sound
A few months ago I got my hands on Magix Music maker and created a track which is (at time of writing this) currently my Youtube Intro/Outro clip music. The song is named “Story with Sound” and I think has potential to do well when I finally get around to filming a music video for it.
Recently on SoundCloud I got my hands on some free music making software called Ableton which I hope to learn and make some great music but at this moment in time I’m spending a lot of time recording, editing and adding effects to videos. (Check out my youtube channel) Music on its own can be powerful and video can be 2 but when you add the two together you can create something quite special.
