Tuesday, November 29th: Nokia Lumia Live – Millbank Tower on the banks of River Thames was turned into a living, breathing entity last night (mon) as Nokia celebrated the launch of the Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone with the most spectacular light show the capital has ever seen.
Millbank was plunged into darkness with the iconic Millbank Tower acting as the canvas for a never-before-seen spectacular. Each of the 120 metre high building’s 800 windows were covered with vinyl as 16 powerful projectors, stationed 300 metres away on the other side of the river, beamed 4D images onto the structure, making it seem like huge butterflies were flying across the London skyline and that the tower was spinning around. Billed as the “future of live events” the spectacular show was accompanied by music from super producer deadmau5, who created exclusive remixes for the performance – adding the 4th dimension, and the event was broadcast live online.
DeadMau5′s own live site was supposed to be streaming the event but due to a company who did a shitty job of out-sourcing the stream it wasn’t possible. However various recordings have been found thanks to the Mau5′s 4 million+ facebook followers. The below video is what happened before the HD video (Link Above).
There was a warm up act which was pretty cool too. T-E-E-D (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs) played a song called Garden in there mix which got me interested in them. Pretty nice track, check it out.
To see T-E-E-D’s full warm up act you can find it in the video below but the sound is not all that great as it was filmed from a standard camera from across the water. Still worth a look though.
