Biking home after work tonight I started thinking about social networking and social media etc etc. I got to thinking why do most people champion Celebrities? I then go  to thinking…. Being a celebrity means that when you’re gone you leave behind lots of proof you were here once. With the invention of the internet and social networks we all now have a way to leave behind something which can be seen by people after we’re gone. Could this be why sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are so popular.

Everyone now has a chance to gain followers and feel important, Youtube now gives everyone the opportunity to become the host of their own show. Weather its because I have a desire to be a celebrity or its just  because I love being creative I’m not sure but I have some great ideas for my Youtube channel  and while sometimes people think I’m crazy for spending money and time to build a fake RPG (Rocket propelled granade launcher) prop for a short video I have in mind It doesn’t matter to me as I’m doing something I love to do and if doing so gives people something to be entertained by, well that’s all good too.

The thing that’s annoying at the moment though is the fact I now not only have to learn the art of video and editing but I also now need to learn the art of making music to use in my videos too if I really want to earn any income. Maybe it’s not a bad thing, I do love music and would love to make it so maybe Youtube is doing me a favour by luring me into its system then forcing me to create my own content from scratch. maybe it takes  a certain person to do this kind of thing, maybe it doesn’t I don’t know but what I do know is I enjoy putting my presence online for others to share and to know that one day long after I’m gone from this earth and nothing but random particles floating through space possibly destined to become part of a GIANT diamond planet spinning at the speed of light, I leave behind something for future generations to read, listen to and watch, and that’s cool.
