PS3 Hacked!
Long story short. Dude hacks PS3, Sony retaliate buy forcing users to update their PS3 to a version which takes out the ability to install Linux on old PS3′s removing the loop hole which allows the hack.
Where are we Now?
Someone has been kind enough to set up a DNS server which hosts a file that tells the playstation network your playstation has the latest update meaning you can now connect and play online with PS3′s runnig 3.15 system firmware or earlier. Please note! however this is only a temp solution untill GeoHot releases the CFW update which will mean some of the lucky ones will still be able to install Linux and update to 3.25.

GeoHot (iphone and now PS3 Hacker) posted on his blog this video showing pros created the 3.25 CFW (Custom FirmWare) He has not mentioned the release date yet (maybe he’s giving Sony a chance to fix their mistake) but as soon as its available i will be posting it here on RobGroove.com
