BioWare is known for great RPGs such as the Baldur’s Gate series and Mass Effect just to name a few.
Dragon Age Origins is a pause and play tactical fantasy RPG. What does this mean exactly? You have the tactical advantage to use a pause menu to set up your strategy while still giving you that real time feel in battles like you would see in WOW.
The game takes place in Ferelden and is in threat of being taking over by Dark Spawn. You play as a Grey Warden in hopes of eliminating these Dark Spawn and the Arch Demon that controls them. However every character race has its own entanglement in the story. Making it fresh for your next time around. The main quest by its self will take around 48 hours to complete. Side quests take about another 30 hours. I have been dipping in and out of these side quests and i must say you do get some descent equipment. In the long run it will be worth the extra hours.
Not good enough? Well there is also DLC adding new armor weapons characters and dungeons. Buy the game on a console and you will get the Shale DLC along with the Blood Dragon Armor DLC.
There are some issues i have had with this game. Graphics are average. The art is great but better graphics really would have made this game much more enjoyable to the eyes
Looping cut scenes are always a drag right? Unable to save content while this happens can be a bitch. I have had to repeat a few things because of this. I have also had a few graphical issues with objects floating or fire upside down. These issues may very well been from my own Ps3 being played for over 8 hours at a time.
I give this game a 9.1 out of 10.
Defiantly worth the pick up if your a RPG fan.
