News just in, Richard Branson entrepreneur and owner of the Virgin brand now has his site set on the gaming world with a gambling website. VirginGaming.com is the site in which gambling/gamers (both PS3 & XBOX) will connect through and place bets for a potential win. The site say’s it will judge your skill with every 5 games you play pitting players against other players in the same league keeping the competition fair. They also say they have an excellent system which can spot the cheaters and hackers.
Could this be bad for the gaming industry?
Will it change the way we think of our games?
Gambling = Addictive
Gaming = Addictive
could mixing these 2 things together in one place become disastrous for many gamers?
Time will tell but if you’re tempted to give it a try like me, just remember never bet what you can’t afford to throw away. The gambling site apparently allows its registered users to gamble anything from $1 to $1000 so it could become pretty bad for your health.
Currently
The only games available on the site are:
- MLB 10 (the show) PS3
- FIFA 10 PS3 & Xbox
- NCAA Football 10 PS3 & Xbox
- Madden NFL 10 PS3 & Xbox
- Halo Xbox
With Madden NFL 11, Fight Night Round 4, Mod Nation Racers, NHL 10 and NHL 11 coming soon.
There’s also a tournament section to the site which costs $1 to enter and giving $12.50 – $38.00 to the winner which i guess sounds harmless enough, nothing wrong with a flutter. I just hope they keep the entrance fee low for all and keep it harmless and fun.
Oh and please note! there is a withdraw fee. If you want to withdraw using Paypal it will cost you $3, Cheque in regular mail = $6, Cheque in express mail = $15 and Cheque via courier = $45
Lets see where this goes.

Remember! Don’t gamble what you can’t afford to throw away.
