Heavy Rain. Will it blow Uncharted 2 away?

Since Day 1

Ive been reading about Heavy Rain for years now, I saw photo’s of some of the graphics months before the playstation 3 was released, This tells me that this game is going to be something else. I do believe that this game will be the blueprint for a whole new genre opening our consoles to a whole new kind of experience. Not theres anything wrong with the gaming scene today but you can always improve right?

David Cage the CEO and founder of Quantic Dream gave a brief description of the game ….
“Heavy Rain is about normal people who have landed in extraordinary situations. I wanted a much more personal story. The first thing that came to my mind, as a father of two little boys, was that the main theme should simply be a father’s love for his son. This is not a game about saving the princess or the world. Its [sic] purely about a father’s love. The main story will revolve around four different characters, and we’re putting the spotlight on their perceptions. The question ‘what is good and what is evil’ is the key here, that will be just a matter of viewpoint…I believe heavily in moral choices, I’m going to use them A LOT. They’re not about being good or bad, but about finding the right balance.”

This isnt going to be a simple ‘choose a door, or kill him – let him live’ kind of choice game. I think this game is going to pull you in right at the begining, gettin you to feel for the characters so you become yourself immersed into the story making some of the choices very hard to make. i saw in one video trailer how you are asked almost in a SAW stylee “to cut off the last sction of one of your fingers off to save a life” which should make for a very moody and quite dark story/game. If a character dies, the game will not end and control will be switched over to a new character but with the added effect of the now dead chracter affecting the story. If all characters dies then you get a propper ending. It seems that it will ba different story everytime you play. Added to that some of the most amazing graphics ive seen to date (watch video below) you wont see graphics this good on the fagbox, ahem sorry i mean Xbox.

I have opted out of displaying a trailer for the game as im sure you will be seeing trailers all over the placein the next month. For the lucky european PS3′ers they can already (as long as they signed up) start solving the a murder on Playstation Home in the presentation podium as long as they have their pass (the PS Home T-shirt available here ) . Alot of people are gettin very excited about this game and one of the best things about it is its a Playstation Exclusive.

Will heavy Rain beat Gran Turismo 5 and get Game Of The Year 2010?
