Some unseen PS3 Move content surfaced recently from Sony’s Holiday Event in NYC on July 20th, 2010 and while it’s great to see something never before seen, i noticed Anton Mikhailov mention something interesting.
In the video at 2:07 Antov say’s “You can use the DUAL SHOCK or the navigation controller because they’re fully compatible / most people don’t know they’re compatible im just throwing it out there” The way i hear it, it tells me the subcontroller will be unnecessary.

The Motion controller has all of the triangle X O square trigger select start PS and the Move button.
The Sub controller has X O an analogue stick L1 L2 D-Pad and PS buttons.
Why the Sub controller has the X and O buttons i do not know and im sure they’re there for a reason. I personally am going to cancel my order for the sub controller as i believe i should be able to use my Dualshock as the sub.
Sure there will be a game or 2 that has a need for those extra O & X buttons on the sub but the motion controller has them and i can’t see them adding 2 buttons to the system identical to 2 of the buttons that already appear on the motion controller. Not to mention you can’t use the sub controller without the motion controller hence the name SUB! controller.
Not sure about it? try holding your Dualshock controller with your left hand only. It’s no problem at all to reach the D-pad analogue stick L1 and L2 with ease.
Conclusion
I write this blog as an avid Playstation Junkie and keen observer of everything playstation so this view is me looking in from the outside and as i have never tried the PS Move yet i could be wrong but i feel my predictions are just. Buying the playstation Move means at least buying 1 motion controller which is not bad but then throw in an extra motion controller a sub controller and a game to go with all your new peripheral’s it can become quite expensive. If i’m right i will be able to shave a decent amount off the total price to be able to experience this great new way of interacting with games.
