OFPRR
Well.
First off I have to say I’am thrilled to hear a few details about the next Operation Flashpoint game due for release sometime in 2011 and while everything in the video (below) sounds and looks awesome, I just hope they fix a few minor problems I noticed in Dragon Rising.

Dragon rising was a hit for Codemaster’s in November 2009 I think mainly because of the timing. It came out at a time when everyone was itching for a new shooter to play and that’s why I bought it, but once I started playing it I thought it was brilliant. Operation flashpoint isn’t like the other shooters, yes there are boundary’s you can’t cross on the map but if you’re playing the game properly you won’t notice them. The magic of Operation Flashpoint (I think) is the CoOp aspect to it. It’s just you and 3 friends with a mission to get done. For me playing online is what gaming is all about. It’s not like the old days when you used to just sit in a room on your own playing a single player game, as fun as it was back then times have changed now. Gaming has become more social and it doesn’t get much better than 4 of you all using mic’s treading on foreign ground covering each others backs while figuring out the best way to go about the mission at hand.
Bugs!
In Operation Flashpoint it was so annoying when the game first released as the servers wasn’t prepared to deal with the amount of players the game saw online in the first 10 days of release. Getting into a game with 3 friends was at times impossible and terribly frustrating but after that the problem was sorted. Another problem i found was the game didn’t handle lag very well sometimes your soldier wouldn’t switch weapons and so you keep mashing the button still trying to switch weapons and nothing would happen…… Then all of a sudden the lag would catch up and you’d find yourself with the weapon you wanted then but now you need something else. Lag is always going to be a problem with online gaming so i hope they find a new way of doing that in red River. Last of all the bugs for Flashpoint I can think of is the hardcore glitch. To get the hardcore trophy you had to beat the game on hardcore but if you were lucky enough to join a game where the host is playing the last mission on hardcore all you had to do was beat it without beating the rest of the game and the trophy is yours. This happened to one of my friends and he said it cut out a lot of gameplay for him as it gave him the Platinum trophy without a fight.
Red River
As with most games coming out these days all problems with their predecessors are usually fixed in the next outing which if true with OFPRR will make it an excellent experience for you and 3 friends. Judging by the video (below) it seems they’ve spent some time on making it easy for you to pull your friends into the game (hopefully mid mission) and even though the graphics were pretty dam good on DR, RR is set to have “War through a webcam” visuals with “Searing light”, im expecting BIG things form Codemasters on this title but for now all I’d like is a release date…..
