I'm looking forward to this one. The word on the street at the moment is Socom will be dropping in April thanks to this article in the WallStreet Journal but I've been doing a little research and it looks to me like its the SOCOM 4 Beta that will be dropping in April. I saw the news today that in the USA, gamers who purchase Killzone 3 (Feb 22nd) will get the chance to get the SOCOM 4 beta but after speaking to UNCyrus from PlayStation he told me "SOCOM beta codes are in limited supply so the only way to guarantee that you get one is to preorder" while in the UK and Europe all PSN+ members will be getting the beta. (PlayStation Blog USA - PlayStationEU  Tweet) With no official concrete release date yet we could be waiting for SOCOM 4 till mid summer or even next winter but with the gargantuan amount of excellent games coming our way this year I'm already getting worried about not having enough time to fully play them all, But I'll always make time for SOCOM. Well it's PlayStation Store update day once again but this time it's not your usual update. PSN+ members (EU only) will be able to download a Killzone 3 theme, the first 10,000 PSN+ users to do this will get an email before October 27th inviting them to download and play the Killzone 3 beta. (PSN+ members from North America will be able to download the theme next week) Usually the store updates between 4 and 6pm however to give everybody an equal chance the store will update at 8pm GMT/BST (thats 6am in Australia) If you are not yet a PSN+ member you can purchase your + from the store for the price of £39.99 which will get you 1 months of Plusness and also an extra bonus 3 months on top of that for free. One of the best experiences I took home with me from the BetaRooms event has to be playing Killzone 3 in 3D.WOW! and I mean a HUGE WOW. Throughout the whole afternoon KZ3 3D had the longest line out of all the games on offer and I'd think to my self if i wait in that huge line im gonna be missing out on valuable play time as the event only lasts 4 hours but the long wait in the line has to be endured, it just has to. So after we worked our way around the room playing everything  we wanted to try  me and Damopointy finally took the plunge and joined the long line of people waiting to play on one of the two KZ3 3D stations. Luckily for us they opened up a near by practise station for MotorStorm so people waiting for KZ3 3D could at least use the time stood in line to get a lil practise for the MotorStorm 3D TV competition (SCORE!). It all started a week ago when i saw (Thanks to @MusterBuster) there was going to be this thing called the BetaRooms in Birmingham aimed at bringing a chance for us midlanders in the UK to get our mitts on some pre-alpha games and some demo's of games due for release later this year such as GT5, Killzone 3, MotorStorm Apocalypse  (all in 3D) Little Big Planet 2, Dead Nation and of course some Move games. Straight away i sent the email to secure my invite then jumped on the phone and told my friend from up north (Damopointy) and my Dad to do the same (i had to attend this event and get my hands on GT5) The next day whaddya know, Damo gives me a call asking me if i got in (which i didn't) then bragging how i owe my chance to go to the betarooms to him as he's the one with the invite. Then my Dad also tells me he got invited but i still yet didn't have one. It's official. Me and Omac_Brother along with damopointy and a couple others will be attending the BetaRooms event in Birmingham on Sunday August 1st  and are all looking forward to trying out some 3D gaming along with GT5, Killzone 3, LBP2, Dead Nation and of course the PS3 Move.
