I've seen these things before but always thought they would be WAY out of the price range of the normal person but $1750 for the one colour and $2000 for the 2 colour model means surely it won't be long till the price of these things start coming down further as 3D printers get more popular. I think we will see these things in every home in the not too distant future.  The first thing I would make is either a RobGroove.com 3d statue to sit on my desk or maybe a PSJunkies.com one. While my uses for this technology is just for fun I can't help but think how great it would be to figure out exactly how to design whatever I wanted. One of the coolest parts about this product is the fact its all open source with a large and growing community behind it which means the sky's the limit. Also just think how many new inventions can now be created. THIS is the future and its here....... The BetaRooms event in Birmingham last weekend was the event which finally gave me the chance to get my hands on the beta version of the game that is the reason I bought a PlayStation3 about 3 years ago. The anticipation of actually being one of the people I usually see at events like E3 and TGS playing GT5 kept me awake most of the night before the event. I think I managed to get about 4 hours sleep, I just couldn't stop thinking about it. The whole journey there I was looking around at the other people going about their day thinking, is that person a gamer? does he/she know about BetaRooms? if so I wonder what he/she would do to be as lucky as me right now? As i got off one train to wait for the next one I managed to fit in 20 mins of GT PSP, well i gotta get my car collection up right? Then it was on to the next train and in just 45 more minutes I would be sitting in front of a 3D TV playing Gran Turismo 5. It all started a week ago when i saw (Thanks to @MusterBuster) there was going to be this thing called the BetaRooms in Birmingham aimed at bringing a chance for us midlanders in the UK to get our mitts on some pre-alpha games and some demo's of games due for release later this year such as GT5, Killzone 3, MotorStorm Apocalypse  (all in 3D) Little Big Planet 2, Dead Nation and of course some Move games. Straight away i sent the email to secure my invite then jumped on the phone and told my friend from up north (Damopointy) and my Dad to do the same (i had to attend this event and get my hands on GT5) The next day whaddya know, Damo gives me a call asking me if i got in (which i didn't) then bragging how i owe my chance to go to the betarooms to him as he's the one with the invite. Then my Dad also tells me he got invited but i still yet didn't have one. Will E3 launch GT5? Some of you may of had some problems logging onto the PSN yesterday and though it can be bloody annoying, its all for a good cause. Your PS3 now has the ability to play 3D games thanks to the maintenance yesterday and the PSN update which became available in April. This all ties in with Sony's upcoming release of 3D TV's.... These 3D TV's are available for pre-order now and should ship to retailers later this month. E3 With E3 coming up next week i can't help but think this is all going somewhere. 3D now possible on PS3's, Sony releasing their 3D TV's at the end of this month. I can't help but think about how Sony are expected to release Gran Turismo 5 in a big 3D marketing campaign (see where im going with this? lol) As suspicion of a likely GT5 release date at E3 spreads throughout the tinterweb like icelandic volcano ash filling up the airwaves, i can't help but think Polyphony digital will surprise everyone with an earlier than expected release date. Free Spec's I was walking round Tesco the other day and as i was going through the movie section i noticed Final Destination 3-D. Picked it up, had a little look and saw it was in 3d and includes the 3D glasses with the movie. As i have never seen one of these movies (as old as this one red lens one blue lens technology is) i thought why not. It cost me £17.99 as its a Blu-Ray thought i can always sell it if. So i bought it. Pop Out I sat down and started to watch it and its a bit wierd at first. I spent the first half an hour waiting to see hands jumping out of the screen but its not what i saw. If you too have never seen one of these movies and like me are excited about the whole new generation of 3-D technology coming our way later on this year i would recommend you try it out. You dont see things popping out of the screen but its more like you can see there's distence between objects in the foreground and background.
