GT5's update is now live. The 1.06 update weighs in at 300 mb's and includes a whole host of new features. An update to Gran Turismo 5 has been released. The contents are as follows: ・Remote Racing have been added to the bottom left of the - screen. Here you can start a fully automated B-Spec race using yours and your friends' "My Drivers", and gain rewards and experience from it. I saw some twitter activity from the creator of Gran Turismo last night. Kazunori Yamauchi mentioned a few things that we'll see in the next update coming This Friday (Feb 18th). A fix for the game save bug (if your game saves exceeds 4165kb's it will become useless causing you to restart your game) Improved gear ratios Performance points system (from Gran Turismo Prologue) Possible corner cutting and wall hitting penalties improved The links above take you to Google translator pages where I translated Kaz's messages as they're in Japanese. I had a surprise this morning when the post came and brought this months copy of the Official PlayStation Magazine. When I had a quick flick through it I couldn't help but notice one of my GT5 in game photo's had made it in there. The photo (above) showing me and a few friends leap frogging on the Cape Ring track appears in the mag with the text " STUNT DRIVER Rob Groove - Showing off your car collection and driving skills in one outrageous move. We tip our racing helmets to you." first appeared in my Leap Frogging video (Below) Then to my surprise again I turned the page to find yet another one of my photos on the next page. "BAKED ALASKA Rob Groove - Snow - good for abominable snowmen, scarf sales and a carefully composed mood shot." These photo's where sent into PlayStation Magazine for a competition where the winner wouldn't win anything. I didn't win but having 2 of my photo's in the Mag is bloody excellent. Kazunori Yamauchi (creator of the GT series) just reply'd to a fan on Twitter announcing that the next GT5 update should be arriving mid-February.  The update was originally supposed to be released early Feb but with with the delay'd update you can expect the penalty system to be fixed. Can all the tracks be fixed in just an extra 2 weeks? I almost lost my love for GT5 a few days ago while practising for a race when I realized how badly you can cut some of the corners in GT5. I don't know how the game got released with corner cutting this bad, being a racing game and all but good news is here. It was just announced that the USA GT Academy's next round (round 3) can't happen until the issue with GT5 is fixed. Round 3 of the GT Academy was supposed to start on Feb 14th but might be put back to a later date until the game is fixed. GT5 was supposed to be getting an update in early Feb so this could mean a fix/update patch very soon. In the video below, skip forward to about 1.30 and you will see how bad some of the corner cutting can be. Been a busy Sunday for me updating all the GT5-SCOL forums and pages but its all done now and I'm happy I did it. GT5-SCOL Season #2 came to a close last night with the final race held at Daytona Road Course and was an excellent race with no major issues. One SCOL driver said "It's events like this that really make Gran Turismo 5 what it's meant to be" Gran Turismo 5 is a great game on its own but with competitions like SCOL happening once a week, it gives everyone involved something to practice for, look forward to and tweak their cars for. It's also event's like this that are making bad drivers good, good drivers better and better drivers excellent. Big thanks to everyone who took part and I'm looking forward to the next series of events in Season #3. As the GT5-Saturday Cup Online League enters it's 2nd race in season 2 things are improving. It was really nice to see the whole race go on without any major disputes and I gotta give massive kudo's to CrazyKaks for driving an exceptional race. He got the fastest time in qualifying but then due to a slight glitch in the game had to start from 4th, Then got pushed back into last place which can be quite soul destroying but he managed to fight through the entire pack and go on to win the race.
