The company wouldn't give details other than that it would add a "security patch." Most expect that it will attempt to close up the holes exposed by Geohot and fail0verflow that prompted a DMCA lawsuit. The company has made a regular practice of pushing out minor updates in the past several months under the guise of security that have almost always been intended to patch jailbreaks. It's unknown if the latest attempt was successful or if it will last for long. In creating its most recent exploit, fail0verflow may have discovered a permanent technique that could either leave it always open or have patches that are rendered obsolete in days or even hours. True security for the PlayStation may not come until a new hardware revision, in part as hackers have discovered Sony encryption keys that can't necessarily be changed. "The game play will be mroe stable if you perform the following: Go to the menu, and under heading, choose and execute the option. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused." If you want more details on this issue you can read the GT5 news feed on the first home screen in GT5 by selecting "News List" in the upper right corner of the screen. So now the GT5 servers seem to be back up and running nicely again the First weekly GT5 Sunday! Cup Online will take place at these times: Sunday 12 December Los Angeles - 2pm New York - 5pm London - 10pm Cape Town - midnight Sydney - 8am Monday! For next weeks race, visitors of RobGroove.com will be able to vote starting tonight in the right hand side bar and the vote will end on tuesday so make sure you get [...]

With the release of GT5 just over 2 months away we're about to get more and more information on this title of the decade as the release draws ever near. Thanks to InsideSimRacing.tv and GTPlanet.net for going to gamescom to interview the big man of Polyphony Digital himself Kazonuri Yamauchi. Included in the video is news of more than 70 tracks included in GT5which does not include variations of tracks which means a hell of a lot of track :). Check it out. - -

The download will be available to everyone but only the people with the MAG disc in their PS3 will be able to play in the beta. Don't worry if you play MAG there will still be lots of players in the original game as the number of new MAG beta players will be capped so if you get a message saying the beta is full you'll just have to try a little later. The beta will only be running for four hours twice a day Monday to Friday. There's about to be a HUGE! amount of new weapons and gameplay coming to MAG as a result of this beta phase and I personally just can't wait to check it out. Also you might want to hold onto your MAG beta client as it will be used again in the future to test the next beta [...]

We've been patiently waiting for Gran Turismo 5 to be released for half a decade now and while dribs and drabs have been fed to us from the official website gran-turismo.com, most of the news (should you choose to search for it) came from GTPlanet.net. At GamesCom 2010 GTPlanet was there in person to make sure the world got a look at every detail Polyphony Digital cared to release on the upcoming and highly anticipated title by securing an invitation into a private showing of the game by none other than the man him self Yamauchi san. This Private showing shared a lot of information and images giving us a better idea of how the finished game will look and feel. I'am gonna start with the 2 most interesting images. First up is this image showing Stage 1 of the GT Auto section of the game where you'll be able to upgrade your car. This looks like the car upgrade we're used to in Gran Turismo so no big surprises here but it's nice to finally confirm the system for upgrades. Now this picture (below) is what really interests me. This is what the "My Lounge" screen looks like. This is [...]
