Bridging the gap

A new kind of game is coming.

MMOFPS for PS3 and Xbox linked with the PC based EVE online universe and this game has ALOT of potential. EVE online is a MMO  which consists of 7,500 star systems which can consist of planets moons and other spacely objects, over 300,000 players and is set 21,000 years in the future. It’s a little bit like those browser games but is alot more powerfull as you have to download and install the game on your PC. Eve online is also subscription based but you can get a 3 week free trial upon sign up. (watch the EVE trailer at the bottem of this post)

Dust 514

Dust 514 is a console game currently in development which is an MMOFPS and its connected to the EVE online universe. People playing EVE will be able to call upon console mercs and hire them to do the dying while they do the flying. Think MAG linked with some sort of broser based evony type game. Its confirmed the Dust 514 and the EVE games can carry on without each other but have the ability to link in the game. What you do in Dust 514 will effect what happens in the EVE universe and vice versa.

This seems to be a whole new idea and direction of gaming and it’s very exciting. I managed to find a couple gameplay videos so you can get an idea how it will look and feel (below). No release date yet but even though EVE online is  a paid subscription game Dust 514 is going to be free but instead will use a micro-transaction model.

I believe i will be able to play this FPS on my PS3 and help my brother and dad who will be on their PC’s hovering in their massive ships a few hundred meters above the battle ill be in. What a great way of bridging the gap between console and PC. I hope they give us mic communications between the 2 games.

Also could this be the begining of a gameverse shared between xbox and ps3?

Safe Gaming

Bloody eye.

As scary as it looks it actually didn’t hurt. Last weekend was double points on MAG so i made sure i put some serious time in. I must have clocked up about 60 hours in 4 days of pure MAG and now my eye looks like this.

My TwitpicsHmm. I think maybe i might have played a little too much #MAG... on Twitpic

I looked it up and its nothing serious and the blood in my eye should go away after 3 weeks but it does show that gaming marathons may be damaging our eye sight. The safe distance to view a HD TV is 3 times the height of the TV away from the TV and obviously in a brightly lit room. While i know this and am aware, i still ignore this and play where i feel comfortable but im now thinking of maybe shelling out approx $100 for some gamer glassesalthough i did read somewhere that if you focus on something far away at least once an hour it can stop your eyes from straining.

Massive Action Gamer

Mission impossible

M.A.G. Stands for Massive Action Game and thats exactly what it is. Ive been playing this game alot since release (26 January 2010) about 3 months and i can feel that awesome platinum trophy within my grasp but DAMN its hard. I only need one trophy and it’s still gonna take some time. The last trophy i need is the “Eager Beaver” which requires me to get one of every medal in the game and its a massive feat on any scale.

Ive been thinking about the MAG platinum and what it will look like and i pretty much expected it to look like most other platinums. The game name logo trophy like this.

mag platinum massive action gamer

But i was wrong…

After a little research i found what it actually looks like and i think its perfect. This platinum, as long as its gonna take to get has to be the best platinum ive seen yet. I don’t think its as hard to get as the Warhawk platinum but its deffinately up there with the ones you need to play a hell of alot to get. Some people estimate it will take approx 1000 hours of gameplay but i think i might get mine in out 500 – 600 hours. You know ill post my findings on here when i get it. Anyways to the point. Check out the Massive Action Gamer MAG Platinum trophy.

Who’d a thunk it eh.

It shows Zipper has a sense f humor. When you see all the other trophies MAG has  its not what you expect. I think this is “THE” best platinum there is and i need it in my collection.  Great choice Zipper    1up
