Anyone who knows me knows I'm a SERIOUS gamer and being this way means I've sniffed out all the best place's to buy PS3 Gaming Paraphernalia. After recently finding the G27 steering wheel (usually costs £300) for the bargain price of £230, I decided to write a quick blog to share some of my knowledge with RobGroove.com readers. As I'm a PS3 gamer the information below is directed towards other PS3 gamers in the UK but may also work just as well with Gaybox.... er...  ahem... I mean Xbox user's as well as gamers in other countries. When it comes to buying there are 4 catagories, 3 of which I will list info for. The 4th one is Consoles and the best thing to do is just shop around reputable dealers and find a reasonable price. I wouldn't buy 2nd hand if I were you. If you're buying a console you really should get a brand new one as 2nd hand models could be fixed with a quick fix and break down on you within a matter of months. Sony said late Wednesday that it would soon push out a 3.56 firmware update for the PS3. The company wouldn't give details other than that it would add a "security patch." Most expect that it will attempt to close up the holes exposed by Geohot and fail0verflow that prompted a DMCA lawsuit. The company has made a regular practice of pushing out minor updates in the past several months under the guise of security that have almost always been intended to patch jailbreaks. It's unknown if the latest attempt was successful or if it will last for long. In creating its most recent exploit, fail0verflow may have discovered a permanent technique that could either leave it always open or have patches that are rendered obsolete in days or even hours. True security for the PlayStation may not come until a new hardware revision, in part as hackers have discovered Sony encryption keys that can't necessarily be changed. I'm looking forward to this one. The word on the street at the moment is Socom will be dropping in April thanks to this article in the WallStreet Journal but I've been doing a little research and it looks to me like its the SOCOM 4 Beta that will be dropping in April. I saw the news today that in the USA, gamers who purchase Killzone 3 (Feb 22nd) will get the chance to get the SOCOM 4 beta but after speaking to UNCyrus from PlayStation he told me "SOCOM beta codes are in limited supply so the only way to guarantee that you get one is to preorder" while in the UK and Europe all PSN+ members will be getting the beta. Looks like an official PSN app is about to be released for both iphone and android and its set to be released before Christmas, SWEET!! Could this be a sign of thing to coming PS Phone shaped? OK folks one of my buddies (CORLEONE26) came up with an idea for a weekly race where we can all get together on Gran Turismo 5 and race it out so, Saturday Dec 11th at 23:30 GMT - 18:30 EST - 15:30 - PST (the room will open 30 mins before race first 16 in get to race) I will be creating an Online lobby where I'll be holding a 20 lap race with a 404bhp Limit on the TopGear Test Track.
