I think Sony are becoming very comfortable in their ability to release excellent devices and then tease us all for a long period of time till we start climbing the walls in anticipation. Am I going to be buying this as soon as it comes out, even though game support might not be that great at release time? Hell yeah! I'm buying the NGP AND! the Xperia Play.

The company wouldn't give details other than that it would add a "security patch." Most expect that it will attempt to close up the holes exposed by Geohot and fail0verflow that prompted a DMCA lawsuit. The company has made a regular practice of pushing out minor updates in the past several months under the guise of security that have almost always been intended to patch jailbreaks. It's unknown if the latest attempt was successful or if it will last for long. In creating its most recent exploit, fail0verflow may have discovered a permanent technique that could either leave it always open or have patches that are rendered obsolete in days or even hours. True security for the PlayStation may not come until a new hardware revision, in part as hackers have discovered Sony encryption keys that can't necessarily be changed. The word on the street at the moment is Socom will be dropping in April thanks to this article in the WallStreet Journal but I've been doing a little research and it looks to me like its the SOCOM 4 Beta that will be dropping in April. I saw the news today that in the USA, gamers who purchase Killzone 3 (Feb 22nd) will get the chance to get the SOCOM 4 beta but after speaking to UNCyrus from PlayStation he told me "SOCOM beta codes are in limited supply so the only way to guarantee that you get one is to preorder" while in the UK and Europe all PSN+ members will be getting the beta. (PlayStation Blog USA - PlayStationEU Tweet) With no official concrete release date yet we could be waiting for SOCOM 4 till mid summer or even next winter but with the gargantuan amount of excellent games coming our way this year I'm already getting worried about not having enough time to fully play them all, But I'll always make time for SOCOM. Just remember, those of you in the U.S. Pre-order those Killzone 3's and those in the EU go [...]

From what I can gather about this little golden nugget of online game-playing genius is you play a character on a Journey to the top of a mountain which is most of the time in view but at a great distance. As you travel along trying to reach the top of the distant mountain you can encounter other players (online) who are also playing the game and these encounters become a big part of the adventure. It's a completely unique game from ThatGameCompany who are also responsible for other PSN classics such as Flow and Flower. KEY FEATURES INTUITIVE CONTROLS AND EXPERIENCE – Players with differing skill levels and/or moods can experience the game at their own pace. LUSH AND EXPANSIVE ENVIRONMENTS – Grand landscapes filled with dynamic sand and cloth. Fully simulated sand dunes ripple and slide as players move across them. FRESH ONLINE ADVENTURE – Players explore a mysterious world, discovering its hidden history. People are free to travel alone, or adventure with strangers that they meet along the way. No release date yet but with this video popping up on youtube it looks like the advertising campaign has begun.

Sorry for the lack of blogs over the last 2 days but as I'm sure you know I've been working hard on Gran Turismo 5. I recently bought a HD capture device so I can make better quality videos for this blog and my youtube channel and it works very well so I have managed to make a 20 min video showing the beginning of the DC Universe Online beta but I have noticed a problem. I somehow seem to have recorded some sounds from GT5 in with the original audio so while the sound can be a little distracting I promise to get it right next time. So ladies and gentlemen I give you DCUO beta, Enjoy. I got the DC Universe Online beta for free as I'm a PSN+ member. The DCUO beta is a 15GB download. You too can be a PSN+ member for £39.99 per year or $49.99 per year available in the PlayStation Store.

I just recently signed up with Game Stops 'Power Up Rewards' program and I checked my Email today to see if I had any new Emails and I had one from PlayStation Network I opened the Email to find a invitation to join to beta.So I signed up got the automatic welcome Email and now i'm ready to start earning points. I'm not sure why I was invited into the beta but it could be because I subscribed to PlayStation Plus on the very first day it came out or for the TONS of stuff I downloaded of the store. People think that PlayStation Plus is a waste of money NO WAY! Within the first 2 months of the year package I got back the money i spent on the Ton of free stuff you get with it such as games, themes, avatars, and Beta invites. So if you had PlayStation Plus since day one or downloaded tons of stuff check your Email and heck, you never know you might of [...]
