The wait continues…
As the wait for the release of Gran Turismo 5 goes on there are approx 100,000 people who keep a keen eye open and glued to the internet for any little spec of news which might shed a little more light on some of the features GT5 will have. Another little nugget has been uncovered thanks to GTPlanet and it comes in the form of a Jappanese interview where the creator of the GT series Yamauchi san said “In GT5, NASCAR cars will able to smash into little pieces – some the size of a bolt.” This (even though not much news at all) sounds rather exciting to me. It implies the NASCAR portion of the game is set to be very exciting.
NASCAR games
I have never really watched NASCAR or been that interested in it as watching a load of cars go round a circle consisting of 2 left turns seems seriously boring. But for some reason since ive been playing games ive always checked out most of the NASCAR games ive seen released hoping for a certain gameplay but none! have delivered. K Yamauchi seems to be putting alot into the NASCAR side of GT5, Maybe just to get the Americans more involved in the game and make this game a HUGE success, I’m sure its partly the reason but i believe its because it’s not going to be the run of the mill NASCAR sim. It’s gonna be GREAT!

Give me something to Break
While its confirmed alot of the 1000+ cars in GT5 will only have scratch damage unlocked and the more serious racing cars like the WRC Rally cars will have more advanced damage unlocked, i get the feeling the NASCAR vehicles will have a crazy amount of damage unlocked. For those of us who just want to smash the cars up, this will be the place in GT5 to do it and it should make for some very fun, exciting, and intense driving. I must stress at this point this is where i personally see this going and some of the above info is not confirmed but highly likely.
As for a release date…
One hasn’t been given yet but we’re all hopefull to hear of one at E3 in June. Keep your fingers crossed.
