Kazunori Yamauchi mentioned a few things that we'll see in the next update coming This Friday (Feb 18th). A fix for the game save bug (if your game saves exceeds 4165kb's it will become useless causing you to restart your game) Improved gear ratios Performance points system (from Gran Turismo Prologue) Possible corner cutting and wall hitting penalties improved The links above take you to Google translator pages where I translated Kaz's messages as they're in Japanese. For more info on the GT5 game save killer bug please read about it on the GTPlanet.net Blog.

Can all the tracks be fixed in just an extra 2 weeks? I don't know but my faith in this awesome game has been restored knowing that Polyphony Digital are on-top of it. @Kaz_Yamauchi's Tweet Kaz's reply in Google Translator

Speaking of seeming late lets talk about Gran Turismo 5. I read some disturbing news tonight. First of all I read how Little Big Planet 2's release had been brought foward to Dec 17th in the UK and this could maybe be to assure Sony has an exclusive release for Christmas. LBP2 was originally pushed back to Jan 2011 due to tweaking so why the change all of a sudden. Some believe it's because Polyphony Digital (makers of the GT series) will not be able to meet the dead lines AGAIN!!!! :O. At time of writing.... Amazon.co.uk took the release date off the product information completely Amazon.com say the release date is Dec 31st 2010 But what interest's me most is this...... Maybe this everyone who ordered special editions of GT5 will get it in 2010 and everyone who ordered normal copies will have to wait till 2011 or maybe they only changed the details on one item and forgot to change it for the signature edition expecting to update it later? Could we see another GT5 delay yet again? I [...]

Some of you out there probably just think Gran Turismo 5 is just a game and the Playstation 3 is just a console but the line between virtual and real are becoming blurred. We've already seen 2 gamers find their way onto the race track thanks to Gran Turismo but another exciting part to the game is when Yamauchi (GT series creator) attends the GT awards to choose a lucky winning car to appear in the latest Gran Turismo game. If you thought GT5 was just a game, maybe the video below from last years GT awards will give you an idea as to how much of a big deal this franchise really is.

With the release of GT5 just over 2 months away we're about to get more and more information on this title of the decade as the release draws ever near. Thanks to InsideSimRacing.tv and GTPlanet.net for going to gamescom to interview the big man of Polyphony Digital himself Kazonuri Yamauchi. Included in the video is news of more than 70 tracks included in GT5which does not include variations of tracks which means a hell of a lot of track :). Check it out. - -

We've been patiently waiting for Gran Turismo 5 to be released for half a decade now and while dribs and drabs have been fed to us from the official website gran-turismo.com, most of the news (should you choose to search for it) came from GTPlanet.net. At GamesCom 2010 GTPlanet was there in person to make sure the world got a look at every detail Polyphony Digital cared to release on the upcoming and highly anticipated title by securing an invitation into a private showing of the game by none other than the man him self Yamauchi san. This Private showing shared a lot of information and images giving us a better idea of how the finished game will look and feel. I'am gonna start with the 2 most interesting images. First up is this image showing Stage 1 of the GT Auto section of the game where you'll be able to upgrade your car. This looks like the car upgrade we're used to in Gran Turismo so no big surprises here but it's nice to finally confirm the system for upgrades. Now this picture (below) is what really interests me. This is what the "My Lounge" screen looks like. This is [...]

As the wait for the release of Gran Turismo 5 goes on there are approx 100,000 people who keep a keen eye open and glued to the internet for any little spec of news which might shed a little more light on some of the features GT5 will have. Another little nugget has been uncovered thanks to GTPlanet and it comes in the form of a Jappanese interview where the creator of the GT series Yamauchi san said “In GT5, NASCAR cars will able to smash into little pieces – some the size of a bolt.” This (even though not much news at all) sounds rather exciting to me. It implies the NASCAR portion of the game is set to be very exciting. NASCAR games I have never really watched NASCAR or been that interested in it as watching a load of cars go round a circle consisting of 2 left turns seems seriously boring. But for some reason since ive been playing games ive always checked out most of the NASCAR games ive seen released hoping for a certain gameplay but none! have delivered. K Yamauchi seems to be putting alot into the NASCAR side of [...]

Thanks to the guys at crunchgear i can show you this video which was recorded live walking around at CES 2010. The Interview with Yamauchi san is Very interesting, They ask him some very good questions such as the rumoured Track editer in GT5 which Now deffinately sounds inpossible. I find it very interesting to see how the whole interview process of setting it up is done. You usually dont get to see this kind of footage. If you want to see the pre interview chat with Kaz Yamauchi and his transalator fwd to 29:00 The interview main begins at approx 40:00 Jump to 109:30 to see a GT5 demo game pod & a chat with a sony rep Approx at the 118:00 mark you can see them at the 3d PS3 area Gran Turismo 5 is confirmed for a March release in Japan but still no date for NA and the EU. (i think im gonna go and pre order a japanese inport of GT5 now as it could be another few months after march before we get it)
