MAG Double XP

Not quite double xp weekend but rather “Double XP until further notice” on all games completed in the “Directives” zone.

Here’s what MAG wrote on their site.

"Good news everybody! Starting immediately (yes, as in right now) all players who join the MAG in-game “Directive” queue will receive DOUBLE experience points!
That’s right folks. It doesn’t matter what mode the Directive queue puts you in, if you complete any Directive game to its finish, you’ll receive twice your earned XP at the wrap-up screen. Best of all? Our double XP promotion will continue on until further notice!
So what are you waiting for? Equip your favorite loadout, log in to MAG’s directive’s queue, and see where the wind takes you. Enjoy!"
Looks like ill be playing a little MAG this weekend.

SOCOM II in HD

Vote it up!

Quite often i hear fellow gamers bangin on about how SOCOM II was the best game ever made and how no SOCOM has compared to it since and even though SOCOM 4 is coming out at the end of this year alot of SOCOM II fans still want it brought back in HD as they believe SOCOM 4 will just be a sell out trying to tap into some of the success COD MW2 had and who can blame them. MW2 was a massive! success outselling blockbusting movies.

I personally think SOCOM 4 will be better than most believe but what the hell, im allways up for another PSN exclusive  and think it would be interesting to bring SOCOM II back in HD  just to see what they’re all bangin on about. Zipper (creators of SOCOM) did say they might not bring S2 back as it may be one of those situations where some things are better left in the past and there’s a possibility that bringing it back in HD might destroy that memory for everyone who played the original. With that said though, there are still about 150 people still playing SOCOM II online with their PS2′s everyday which amazes me as SOCOM is now 6 years old (SOCOM II 2004) and we have since come up a generation in consoles.

Maybe there is something amazing and special about SOCOM II, maybe it can be re released in HD and still offer the same feelings for a new generation of gamers. There’s alot of talk going on in the socom forums only time will tell but while we’re waiting for this to happen you can be a part of this push and vote this up on the PSN share blog. so click on the link or picture below and place your vote.

Mag Leaderboard

20th in Europe

Ive been hitting MAG pretty hard before the release of FF XIII so when i go back on i won’t be too far behind the rest of the clan, So there i am started on SVER as lvl 1 on the Saturday and managed to make it to lvl 51 by Monday. I had to work on the tuesday so i couldn’t stay on it to late so i got off about 10pm (UK time) and went through my emails before hitting the sack.

Then you know how it is, you start by reading a couple emails and you end up surfing that internet wave which started off in the UK and ended up in MAG territory. I stumbled onto the MAG website and noticed they now have beta Leaderboards so i thought i’d have a quick look to see if i made it on there (i had been hammering MAG pretty hard for the last 3 days) and what do you know i placed 20th in the “this week”s “Europe” top scores board. I was so happy i had to take a screen shot, its not too often i get on leaderboards. On the flip side though i checked back about 10 mins later and i had already dropped to 23rd place. i dont know where im placed now or if ill ever get back up there but its nice to have the proof  that i have made it, even if only once. Im a PS3!

Its a great time to be PS3

Uncharted 2, THE! best single player game i have ever played tp date. Little Big Planet, So cute, loads of fun, great to play with friends also using the eye toy. One of few games to use the eye toy in game and it works very well, you’ll see alot more of the camera in games when the ARC is released later in 2010. Gran Turismo 5 im sure will blow everyone away. Its been confirmed that the Top Gear test track will apear in the game aswell as awesome features such as the ability to track your head movements with the eye cam to give you a very subtle realistic feeling, like your actually looking through the windscreen of your car and the feature all games should have, The ability to upload any of your replays to youtube. Heavy Rain, should be another awesome new experience for us PS3ers cant wait to play through the whole story.

MAG

Ive been playing the HELL! out of this game over the last few days. Its FPS on a whole new level never really before seen on any console and its a PS3 Exclusive. From the creators of SOCOM, Zipper Interactive have created something very special. A few of my friends played the beta and complain about the graphics and say it blow, but i disagree with their lack of respect for the game. Yes the graphics arent the best but they’re not bad, Far from not bad. The graphics in MW2 are alot better looking i agree but the gameplay is SOo much more challenging in MAG. Which more than makes up for the COD 4 rate graphics. Ofcourse the graphics aint gonna be amazing, Theres 258 playes in a game. Ive been waiting for a fully online game to challenge my Platinum trophy aquiring skills but i just didnt know it. Its fair to say i think ive got the MAG fever, Did a 26 hour marathon the other night lol. I know i should get a life. PS3 is my life at the moment and thats my choice, and im loving it.

Great job Zipper, cant wait to see what you do with socom next. 128 vs 128 3rd person shooter???

Honnestly guys. You Xbox users are seriously missing out.

Mag Beta for everone this friday/saturday

Just got word of the PSN blog that Zipper interactive are letting EVERYONE who’s interested in MAG to have a play this weekend.  They’re also challenging us all to a war just look out for players bearing the Zipper clan tags.
The MAG 4.5 beta is only meant for gamers from the USA but if your elsewhere in the world you can simply make a fake USA account. if you are unable to make a USA account just look on youtube i had a quick look and found this one.

Once you have your USA account you can sign in to the PSN to get your MAG Beta Download HERE

My advice is to go get this NOW if you wanna play this weekend as the download installn & update Process can take quite a few hours so go get it to be ready for the weekend.
Heres the Times Zipper will be on MAG to challenge us all online this weekend and remember this is the end of the beta so after this weekend you wont get another chance to play it until the game released in 2010.

  • Mountain: 7pm-9pm
  • Central: 8pm-10pm
  • Eastern: 9pm-11pm
  • Hawaii: 4pm-6pm
